DSE 2.0-Exciting Saturday!
It was a very exiting weekend. My friend Richard came down from NB one more time to finish the dome and fix the rotation issues we were having.
Dome and Ring Removal
We had a lot of problems with the dome and ring working together. Mainly because we didn't have a perfectly flat surface to work with during the original construction.
Two Smart Carpenters
Dad and Richard using the self-leveling laser level to found out what side of the ring needed to be adjusted.
Sanding
Sanding the ring where two of the track wheels that needed adjusting.
Skirt
Adding the skirt around the dome to make it look nice, and keep the water out.
More Sky, More Sky!
Steve doing some tree trimming to give us a better view of the night sky.
More Power, More Power!
Setting up the battery banks and getting ready to hook up the solar power. 1,000 AH of capacity should do the trick.
Setup Pier
Lower the steel pier on the concrete, fits nicely.
Telescope Setup
Setup of the CGE Pro Mount, a heavy 60lbs.
C14 Edge HD
Setting up the C14 very very carefully. About 50lbs.
Power On!
Power up test worked smoothly! Yay!!!
