From the time I owned my first observatory in Moncton, NB. I always wished it could be located in a dark sky away from city lights.  But since my wife and I can't drive a vehicle this posses some rather difficult challenges.  Every year I came to Quinan, NS to visit family I spent every night stargazing in these dark skies.  I had a dream to one day have an observatory here where I could share the night sky with everyone and photograph the heavens as I did in Moncton.  

I am very excited to announce that we have chosen our site for the new DeepSkyEye Observatory!  I will use this blog to document our progress.   Today I spent the day working with my brother and his girlfriend marking and clearing out some of the land. Believe it or not 15 years ago this area was completely clear of trees and brush.   Amazing how fast the forest can regrow.  We will have enough firewood this year.    This is going to be a lot of work, but 'dreams' are worth it!
